Meet the Makeup Artist

Brittany

Thank you so much for visiting my site.  It is a pleasure to have you here!  I am the owner of Makeup Glam with B.  I have been doing makeup since 2017.  I was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN.  I graduated from Tricoci University as a licensed Esthetician.  I also hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology from IUPUI and obtained my MBA from Purdue University Global.  Professionally, I work in Human Resources in Benefits Administration and am considering my path toward entrepreneurship.

I pride myself on being prompt, communicative, courteous and professional.  I consider myself a color-matching expert who will go above and beyond to nail your look whether that means mixing colors or buying a custom shade.  I value integrity, honesty and authenticity.  I have an extroverted personality and love to laugh and joke, however, I really enjoy intellectual conversations that allow me to express my passions and critically think.  I have a big heart and am one who is empathetic and compassionate.  I meet my clients where they are whether we talk our whole entire session or I allow you space to rehearse your lines.

My makeup passion stems from drawing face portraits when I was a young girl.  I loved shading details of the face to make them look real.  Gray became my favorite color because of the different gradients stencils created.  My favorite vibrant color is turquoise next to pink, red, orange, yellow and black.  I used to participate in still art and tap dance classes.  I enjoy writing, journaling and creating poetry.  I played trumpet for 7 years.  I can appreciate most genres of music and was definitely a band dork since I was in symphonic band, jazz band, pep band, and marching band.  However, I ran track too — the 100, 200 and 4×1.

In my free time I enjoy listening to music, cooking, hanging out with my friends and family, entertaining my guests, and going on long walks.  I absolutely love having any reason to get dolled up to attend a formal event and be in front of the camera.

Lately, I have been contemplating my God-Given purpose in life and what I aspire to do next.  I plan to start providing makeup classes and revamping my lipstick line.

I guess you could say I have been in denial about my love for makeup.  I was told that as a young girl, I played in my grandmother’s makeup collection.  I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup until I was 16 years old and considered myself a minimalist while only wearing a bit of eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick.  I did not think I was a makeup fanatic until my friends sharply corrected me and retold stories about them being required to have makeup applied by me before I would allow them to accompany me to a college party.  One friend told me we got into an argument because we disagreed about the shade of lipstick that would compliment her best.  Those are memories I cherish, however, I promise to respect your opinion while advising you on what works best with your face shape and under tones.

When I look back at pictures, I realize just how much of a makeup artist I was before my business ever came into fruition.  My friends consulted me for their daughter’s prom and for their own wedding makeup needs.  It feels good to be the only one who can grace their faces with my makeup brushes.  I am honored when my friends and family book me and find me a worthy MUA.

What’s funny is the story about how I got into the makeup industry as a business.  I needed a makeup artist and I was so picky and particular that I figured out how to do it myself.  When I posted pictures, my MUA asked me who I was “cheating on her with” and when I told her I did it myself, she exclaimed, “Well, do your own makeup then!” and so, I did and thus Makeup Glam with B was born.  I say that to say I value quality and don’t have a problem with people knowing exactly what they desire, however, I will always be creative if you do not have a vision in mind.

I really appreciate you stopping by and I hope you enjoy my services.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or concerns.  Much gratitude for your referrals and reviews.

Thank you so much for choosing me.  You could have chosen anyone else in the world, but instead you chose to be here with B.

Kindest Regards,

Brittany Fry
